Window Tint Aftercare Tips

Congratulations on your new tint! Here’s how to take care of it to keep it looking great:

1.

Curing Time:

  • Wait Before Rolling Down Windows:
Give your tint some time to settle! Try to wait 3-5 days before rolling your windows down (or longer if it’s cold). This helps avoid any bubbling or peeling.
  • Curing Time Varies:
The time it takes to cure depends on the weather. Warmer temperatures help the tint cure faster, so don’t worry if it takes a little longer in cooler conditions.
  • Check for Bubbles or Haze:
After a few days, the haze should disappear, and any small bubbles will naturally fade away. When this happens, your tint is all set!

2.

Cleaning:

  • Wait Before Cleaning:
It’s best to avoid cleaning the windows from the inside for at least a week. This gives the tint time to fully bond to the glass.
  • Use Soft Cloths:
When it’s time to clean, stick with a soft microfiber cloth or a gentle squeegee to keep things smooth.
  • Choose Ammonia-Free Cleaners:
Make sure to skip cleaners that contain ammonia, vinegar, or harsh chemicals, as these can harm the tint.
  • Alcohol-Based Cleaners Work Best:
Go for alcohol-based window cleaners or just plain water—both are safe and effective!
  • Avoid Abrasive Materials:
Say no to newspaper, rough sponges, or harsh cleaning solutions. Keep things gentle to protect the tint.

3.

General Tips:

  • Don’t Touch the Tint:
Avoid pushing, poking, or pressing on air bubbles. They’ll disappear on their own over time!
  • No Tape, Scissors, or Suction Cups:
These can damage the tint, so keep them away when it’s time to remove any accessories or stickers.
  • Be Gentle with the Windows:
Try not to slam the doors or roll the windows up and down too quickly. A little extra care goes a long way in preventing peeling or bubbling.
  • Ask Your Installer:
If you ever have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to your tint installer. They’re the experts and can give you the best advice for your specific tint.

4.

Remember, tint is not invincible. Tint is a fragile product applied to the inside of the vehicle. Be aware when removing seatbelts, cleaning windows, or getting in and out the vehicle. Children can cause scratches along with animals, purses, jewelry and other items.

Taking these simple steps will help keep your tint in perfect condition and looking fresh for a long time. Enjoy your ride.
